Women & Equalities Select Committee at the House of Commons and APPG Women & Work

In January a very exciting personal invitation dropped into our in box from the Women and Equalities Committee, House of Commons inviting Lynda to give evidence to the Committee’s menopause inquiry on 9th February.  This was the fourth session in the inquiry and intended to hear from organisations that disseminate good practice and employers who have done it well.

Yes, interested and honoured to have the opportunity to talk about West Midlands police, Talking Menopause and the organisations we are supporting to become menopause confident.

Lynda also appeared on ITV Central news explaining  what employers can do to support menopause in the workplace.  This was a good day for menopause awareness.

Since 2017 we have been part of  of the menopause revolution supporting organisations to have that menopause conversation.  We know what works because time and time again we have seen the success of our menopause programmes. That is  supporting those directly affected, helping managers take menopause seriously and above all creating a workplace environment where we can all be Talking Menopause.

Talking Menopause’s second invitation to contribute to the above APPG enquiry landed with us in March.  Chaired by Jess Phillips MP, for Birmingham Yardley and immediately commented on the fact she didn’t hear her own accent very often in parliament.  For those of you who don’t know Lynda hails from the Midlands and was very happy to be a representative for the area as well as TM!

Lynda was asked to talk about how organisations become menopause confident, so started off with our TM survey to understand the culture around menopause in the workplace, obtaining the buy in from senior leaders and keeping the momentum going via menopause champions.  It’s a formula that works and we would love to share our method with you.

Let us support you and your organisation to be menopause confident.  Get in touch for an exploratory chat.
